Classroom Readiness Skills
Each week, teachers track your child’s skills to celebrate progress and set new goals. At Robin’s Nest, advancement is based on skills and readiness—not just age—so every milestone paves the way for a confident step into the next classroom.
Early Literacy & Writing Skills
Moving from letters to words by attempting to write phonetically, mastering upper- and lowercase recognition, learning 101 Kindergarten sight words, and practicing sentence structure through independent writing (without dots).
Reading Comprehension & Storytelling
Developing imagination and critical thinking by forming story ideas, making predictions, drawing conclusions, and expressing ideas through group storytelling and dictated art.
Math & Cognitive Growth
Counting and recognizing numbers 1–50, learning days, months, weather, sequencing, recall, and prepositions to build early math and logical reasoning skills.
Fine Motor & Creative Expression
Refining scissor use with complex shapes and patterns, strengthening coordination, and fostering creativity through art, self-expression, and more detailed hands-on projects.
